Dr. Tomáš Chrenek

Tomáš Chrenek was born on July 26, 1963 in Nitra, Slovak Republic. He gained a degree from the Economic University, Bratislava in 1985 and started to work for KERAMETAL, Inc. as an Iron Ore Manager. In 1991 he was awarded a doctorate in economics from the Academy of Sciences, Bratislava.

Since 1995 he has been on the boards of both MORAVIA STEEL a.s. and Třinecké Železárny, a.s. and since 1999 Chairman of the supervisory board of both. MORAVIA STEEL, A.S is the only consistently profitable privately owned Czech Steel company. Tomáš Chrenek undertook the successful restructuring of the firm repaying its privatization loan and turning a profit in 1998. The firm has joint holdings in TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. steel works with the American Company CMC.
