Promoting a global approach to business, politics and academia in Central Europe through transparent networking and off the record dialogue.
"I believe that Europe and the United States are bound by deeper roots than one would think. . . We are united by common values; values that were born in the cradle of Europe and that were also transferred to the United States where they have continued to develop in a very original manner. . .I believe that this historical perspective and the consciousness about those shared common values have to make us realize how important it is for us to nurture...those transatlantic relations, because to do anything else would be disadvantageous for both sides of the European/American space. . .the cooperation between the United States and Europe is and will always be for us more important than any conflict that may appear on the horizon."
---Prime Minister Vladimir Špidla, Washington DC, 14-07-2003 and currently European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities

His Majesty King Michael I of Romania’s Statement upon being granted the Hanno R. Ellenbogen Citizenship Award

For 140 years, Romania’s Sovereigns have made sacrifices to steer the country towards European and Atlantic values, institutions and alliances. This is what King Carol I - the greatest Romanian modern Head of State did, this is what my grandparents, King Ferdinand and Queen Marie did. Indeed, this has also been my own vision for Romania, even during the years of my exile.
